Season three of “Twenty-Four Seven: A Podcast About Caregiving” is now available

The third season of Texas Public Radio’s podcast, “Twenty-Four Seven: A Podcast About Caregiving,” premiered this September hosted by National Public Radio journalist Kitty Eisele.

Eisele, also an Emmy Award-winning producer, started the podcast in 2021 after caring for her father with dementia. In this new season, she will explore the importance of how caregivers for loved ones with dementia are portrayed in popular culture. She’ll interview filmmakers, authors and comedians to understand how and why they focus their efforts on caregivers of those suffering from the disease.

Special guests include investigative journalist Esmé Deprez, who cared for her father diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease; best-selling author Walter Mosley who penned the novel, “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey,” about a character with dementia and his young caregiver; and Lauren Miller Rogen, an actor and screenwriter whose mother with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease inspired her and her husband, Seth Rogan, to establish “Hilarity for Charity,” an organization that supports families caring for those with dementia.

The first two episodes of season three and the complete first and second seasons are available at Twenty-Four Seven Home Page | TPR. The podcast can also be found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts or on your favorite podcast platform.

Support for this podcast comes from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, also called UT Health San Antonio, and its Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases.
