The groundbreaking technologycould revolutionize studies of pancreatic cancer initiation and progression, and spur new drug development.

Each scholar—chosen for their knowledge, leadership, and contributions to breast cancer research—will help guide Komen’s $956 million research program. And she will receive $600,000 over three years to study Latina breast cancer.

Winners include Jennifer Milton, B.S.N, M.B.A., Jason Rosenfeld, Dr.P.H. (c), M.P.H., Jannine Cody, Ph.D., and Brian Eastridge, M.D.

The university is acknowledging the School of Medicine’s 50th anniversary by having students, faculty, alumni and staff from the School of Medicine ride the barge.

It will feature the former mayor Henry G. Cisneros, Ph.D., discussing health institutions as a key to the future of San Antonio, plus a panel of hospital professionals and medical experts from the San Antonio area.

Free event April 20 will bring together leaders from the city, academic health and local health care systems, community-based organizations, health care providers and the public.
