UT Health San Antonio’s Master of Physician Assistant Studies program has been ranked 9th in the nation in a list published by Degree Query.

The ranking includes the top 25 PA Studies programs in the country for 2022.

School of Health Professions Dean David Shelledy, PhD, RRT, FASAHP, FAARC, congratulated the Department of Physician Assistant Studies for the recognition. “We are very proud of our PA program and believe it to be one of the very best in the nation,” he said.

“Our faculty are fantastic, as are our staff and students,” said PA Studies program director and chair, Associate Professor Paul Allen, DSc, MPAS, PA-C. “We couldn’t do what we do without everyone’s support.”

The PA Studies program Class of 2021 achieved a 100% pass rate on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE), a fact noted by Degree Query in its description of the program.

The program has exceeded the national average for first-time PANCE pass rates every year for the last 10 years, ranging from 96% to 100%, Allen said.
