The International Team for Implantology (ITI) unanimously approved the School of Dentistry as an ITI Scholarship Center.  Under the direction of Georgios Kotsakis, DDS, MS, the program will annually host one ITI Scholar who will engage in postdoctoral training.

Second-year dental students and senior nursing students collaborated in teams to create oral health promotion videos for school-aged students at Roy Cisneros Elementary School, part of the Edgewood Independent School District.

Dental students in their first, second, and third-year were honored for their achievements throughout the 2020-2021 academic year.  All three classes bestowed a Professor of the Year Award to an influential faculty member.

Third-year doctoral candidate, Katie V. Lillis, won first place at the 2021 ComSciCon Conference-Houston for her COVID-19 infographic, "A New Hope".

Based on what the Alumni have been doing, the future looks bright for the Class of 2021.
