The Oral Health Program for Elders gets new wraps on their freightliners

The Oral Health Program for Elders (HOPE) team is comprised of dentists, dental public health professionals, dental hygienists, and dental assistants who use high-end mobile dental equipment to deliver kind and compassionate care at nursing homes located within 65-miles of UT Health San Antonio to nursing home residents qualified for care based on financial need.

THE HOPE team specializes in providing oral health care to geriatric patients living at nursing homes using mobile dentistry. The program provides preventive oral health care and dental treatment to nursing home residents who may not have otherwise have the means to access dental care.

Their mission is to bring kind and compassionate oral health care to our cherished nursing home residents and improve their oral health outcomes and systemic health with an aim to increase access to oral health care through our mobile dentistry program and by promoting oral health care education for nursing home residents and staff.
