The School of Dentistry is currently accepting nominations for the 2021 Faculty Research and Master Clinician Awards.

The Faculty Research Award is aimed at acknowledging outstanding, lifetime scientific achievements, while the Master Clinician Award will honor the compassionate care and professional commitment shown by a clinical faculty member.

Please plan to join us virtually for the annual Stephen B. Milam Memorial Lecture on Thursday, November 19, 2020, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm.

Special guest speaker John Zuniga, DMD, PhD, will present "Role of long-span nerve allograft in reconstruction of the mandible in pediatric patients".

Dr. Zuniga is a Professor at UT Southwestern's Departments of Surgery and Neurology and Neurotherapeutics, and is the Robert V. Walker DDS Chair in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery, specifically temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and neurosensory disorders.

Karla Garcia, an intern with The South Texas Oral Health Network and a University of Texas at San Antonio senior, was awarded 3rd place by The Institute for Integration Science and Medicine for her poster presentation at the 2020 Virtual Community Engagement Symposium.

Researchers in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry are currently seeking participants for a 12-week toothpaste study.  Compensation is available to qualified participants.
