A recent community survey by the South-Central Texas CEAL Regional Team reveals a high burden of chronic disease and related economic challenges among residents of Bexar County and nearby rural areas. Partnering with 17 local organizations, researchers collected 685 surveys to better understand health needs and barriers to care. The survey results are already guiding local outreach, grant efforts, and resource connection strategies by CEAL partners. The findings emphasize that improving health outcomes will require community-based support and broader efforts beyond clinical care.
