Mentored Research Career Development (K12) Program in Clinical and Translational Science (formerly KL2)

The Mentored Research Career Development (K12) Program supports Clinical and Translational Research Scholars (Junior Faculty) selected on a competitive basis for a 2-3-year program of research mentorship. Must have 75% release time for research (surgeons 50%). This NIH-sponsored program targets individuals affiliated with the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), encompass all University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio schools and our diverse public and private partners in South Texas.

You will participate in:

    • SPARK: Peer editing with other awardees
    • SOAR: Training in research skills
    • Individual K12 Leadership meeting: one on one assistance for your development
    • IIMS Research Day: Present your current findings locally
    • Annual ACTS meeting: Meet with and share research with national awardees
    • Visiting Bartter Professorship: Get one on one advice from national leader, researcher
    • Grantseekers: Mock study sections, individual grant and paper editing
