For the past 24 years, Japanese dental students from Asahi University and their sister institution, Meikai University, have traveled to San Antonio to observe our senior dental students in clinic and experience Texas hospitality.

In August, the School of Dentistry welcomed 10 Japanese dental students and 1 dental faculty for a week-long visit. 

The UTHSA Faculty Senate held a meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at which they presented awards to Dr. Adriana Segura and Dr. Suman Challa, both School of Dentistry leaders

The School of Dentistry and the School of Health Professions’ Departments of Occupational and Physical Therapy are now collaborating on an interprofessional education experience, thanks to a LINC Seed Grant awarded to the SoD for AY 2019-20.

The San Antonio Medical Foundation has awarded Dr. Xiao-Dong Chen, of Comprehensive Dentistry, $200K for a collaborative study of diabetes.
