The Class of 2028 reflects an era of increasing competitiveness into the School of Dentistry’s Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

Scott G. Stafford, DDS, MBA, was appointed as associate dean of patient care in the School of Dentistry starting Aug. 1.

Preventive dental screenings are not required for athletes, but through partnerships, the School of Dentistry has made those exams and custom mouth-guard fittings routine for UTSA football and the San Antonio Spurs.

Kaleb C. Esplin, DDS, MS, was awarded 1^st place for his research titled: “Peri-implantitis induction and resolution around zirconia versus titanium implants.”

Shivani Ruparel, PhD was interviewed by Texas Public Radio for her research on developing new medications to manage cancer pain.
