We live in a rapidly evolving world where groundbreaking scientific discoveries are happening concurrently with an increased scrutiny of science and scientists. The importance of bridging the gap from molecular research to practical application in humans cannot be understated. The responsibility for generating tangible benefits for society rests on all of us. The necessity for teamwork and collaborative efforts in science is essential, and ethical considerations have taken on new prominence. Further, technological advancements hold enormous potential for improving outcomes. The way we recognize and applaud our scientific milestones importantly showcases how we, as institutions, value the generation of knowledge. This presentation aims to spotlight the challenges we encounter and the opportunities available to us in addressing them.
